The Door Campaign Team & Board are proud to host our signature Basil Blitz event! In our 3rd year, we are sure not to disappoint with this exploration of food, fun, and education. We have partnered with renowned local chefs to create an innovative basil-inspired menu featuring craft cocktails and distinguished hors-d’oeuvres, highlighting the vibrant community of sustainable restaurants across the city of Pittsburgh.  


So, come grab a drink, mingle and gain a better understanding of The Door Campaign’s mission and how we’ve grown this past year! We look forward to you joining us and working to create a more sustainable Pittsburgh!

Crostini with fire roasted figs, black berry compote, house made ricotta, basil puree, & fresh opal basil

 

Basil Salmon Tartare with fresh and smoked salmon, globe basil, savory waffle cone, and fried lemon basil 

 

 

 

 



The venue

This year our event will be held at Evangeline in the Distrikt Hotel. Food and beverage will be provided by or, The Whale, and we’ve challenged them to use basil freshly harvested from our aquaponics systems!

 

or, The Whale is a Seafood and Chop house located in the historic Salvation Army building. Menu items are sourced from sustainable and humane, local farmers!
